Lina Marmol

Health Worker

Lina Marmol was a volunteer research assistant in the HCI Games group. She mainly focuses on the development of research between exergames and the older adult population projects. Her background delves into several fields of health including geriatric care, mental health, and cognitive disabilities that has given her first hand experience into her research field. She is a Practical Nurse graduate from Georgian College and will continue her education later this fall in the Mohawk/McMaster Undergraduate RN program. She has industry experience as a PSW/RPN with AGTA Home healthcare and recent mental health experience as facility service worker at Windermere Gardens in Barrie, Ontario. When she is not out in the field or advancing her academic skills, she can be found cowering behind a blanket while playing one of her many favourite survival horror games.

The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. We wish to honour the ancestral guardians of this land and its waterways: the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Wendat, and the Neutrals. Many Indigenous peoples continue to call this land home and act as its stewards, and this responsibility extends to all peoples, to share and care for this land for generations to come.
